Basic knowledge of idlers

托辊是带式输送机的重要部件，种类多，数量大。它占了一台带式输送机总成本的35%，产生了70%以上的阻力，因此托辊的质量尤为重要。

The idler is an important part of belt conveyor, which has many kinds and large quantities. It accounts for 35% of the total cost of a belt conveyor and produces more than 70% resistance. Therefore, the quality of idlers is particularly important.

托辊的作用是支撑输送带和物料重量。托辊运转必须灵活可靠。减少输送带同托辊的摩擦力，对占输送机总成本25%以上的输送带的寿命起着关键作用。虽然托辊在带式输送机中是一个较小部件，结构并不复杂，但制造出高质量的托辊并非易事。

The role of supporting rollers is to support the weight of conveyor belts and materials. The operation of idler must be flexible and reliable. Reducing the friction between conveyor belt and idler plays a key role in the service life of conveyor belt which accounts for more than 25% of the total cost of conveyor. Although the idler is a small part of belt conveyor and its structure is not complicated, it is not easy to produce high quality idlers.

判断托辊好坏的标准有以下几条：托辊径向跳动量；托辊灵活度；轴向窜动量。

The criteria for judging the quality of idlers are as follows: radial runout of idlers; flexibility of idlers; and axial runout.

托辊的基本类型

Basic types of idlers

托辊是带式输送机的重要部件，种类多，数量大。作用是支承皮带，减少皮带运行阻力，并使皮带的垂直度不超过一定限度以保证皮带平稳地运行。

The idler is an important part of belt conveyor, which has many kinds and large quantities. The function of the belt is to support the belt, reduce the running resistance of the belt, and make the vertical degree of the belt not exceed a certain limit to ensure the smooth operation of the belt.

托辊按其用途分类为调心托辊、缓冲托辊、槽型托辊、平行托辊。调心托辊的作用是纠正带式输送机的跑偏，通常输送机的重载段上安装回转式槽型调心托辊，空载段上安装平行调心托辊。缓冲托辊是根据实际情况应用于机尾架上的，受料时，可以降低物料对皮带的冲击，有利于沿长皮带的使用寿命。槽形托辊一般由两个侧托辊和一个平托辊组成，槽角度一般为30度，对于可拆卸式的带式输送机，槽形托辊的三个托辊互相铰接在一起，故称铰接托辊。平行托辊一般为一个长辊，它安装在承受压力的下端故称下托辊。

The idlers can be classified as centering idlers, buffer idlers, trough idlers and parallel idlers according to their uses. The function of the aligning roller is to correct the deviation of belt conveyor. Usually, the rotary groove aligning roller is installed in the heavy-load section of the conveyor, and the parallel aligning roller is installed in the no-load section. The cushioning roller is applied to the tailstock according to the actual situation. When receiving material, it can reduce the impact of material on the belt and is beneficial to the service life of the belt along the long belt. Trough idler is generally composed of two side idlers and a flat idler. The groove angle is generally 30 degrees. For removable belt conveyor, the three idlers of trough idler are articulated with each other, so it is called articulated idler. Parallel idler is generally a long roll, which is installed at the lower end of the pressure, so it is called lower idler.

托辊在材质上分为钢质和塑料托辊两种。托辊的轴承座有铸铁的和钢板冲压的和酚醛塑料等三种。

The supporting rollers are divided into steel and plastic supporting rollers in material. There are three kinds of bearing seats for idlers: cast iron, steel stamped and phenolic plastics.

托辊的密封有钢和塑料之分。它们的密封都是内部填充润滑脂。托辊的好坏直接影响带式输送机的电能消耗和皮带的寿命。因此防尘密封可靠，润滑良好是重要使用标准。

The seal of the idler is divided into steel and plastic. Their seals are filled with grease. The quality of idler directly affects the power consumption and belt life of belt conveyor. Therefore, reliable dust-proof seal and good lubrication are the important use standards.
